New Paint in the Living Room

Sara and I decided it was time for some color so we went paint shopping this past Monday on her day off. We went with a sage-y green for the main walls, and a darker coniferous green for the accent wall. It's going to look great once we get all of our pictures on the walls! And you can see pictures of the banister that Sara and her dad put in before we moved in! It's incredible!

(I did all this yesterday. Finally hit the sack around 4 this morning!)

Bubba The Carpenter!

Well, the garage was on my list of things to tackle this week. I figured I'd be going until Thursday for sure, but it ended up just taking one and a half days of solid effort.


The most amazing thing about how this turned out? Not ONE single day of formal carpentry training! And just LOOK at the professional job!

Lutheran Social Services Staff ARRESTED in Wausau!

According to the Wausau Daily Herald report, 2 workers in a LSS group home in Wausau now are accused of sexually assaulting a then 17 year old girl who is mentally handicapped.

Wanna know the kicker to this story? Read this quote from the article:

The two were removed from their supervisory roles in 2006 after the allegations came forward, which is the agency's policy, Lutheran Social Services public relations manager Briena Jacob said. After police investigated the allegations, the two were terminated from their jobs, Jacob said.

"This is a rare and isolated event, something of this magnitude," Jacob said.

Well...I feel so much better. Thank you Briena Jacob. So "rare and isolated." And the two were "removed from their supervisory roles in 2006 after the allegations came forward, which is the agency's policy."

I wonder if it's the fucking agencies policy to fucking report RAPE accusations IMMEDIATELY to police? What the fuck is going on at LSS that they DON'T report RAPE allegations to police IMMEDIATELY?
